3 questions to Janis Stabulnieks, project manager

Janis Stabulnieks from the Latvian Technological Center about project activities, aims and impact of Green PE.

1. Which are your main activities within the Green PE project?
Latvian Technological Center is a technology transfer partner from Latvia. Our main activities will be focused on technology based companies developing different power electronic devices and equipment in comparatively big power range – from some hundreds of watts (e.g. led lighting)  up to some hundreds of kilo watts (e.g. railway traction motor control). Direct contacts with them and special workshops will be organised and input to the Green PE roadmap will be delivered. Companies interested in the results of the project pilot actions will be selected.

2. Which of the project aims imposes the biggest challenge from your point of view?
Our biggest challenge is to enlarge the technological capacity of Latvian companies and assist them in finding cooperation partners in Baltic Sea Region countries for introducing in the market new, reliable and efficient power electronic modules.

3. How will Green PE change the present situation of power electronics in your region?
We do hope that the project results will help both decision makers and technology developers and increase their competence in the application of new technologies in the industry and civil sector as well.
